4 of the 5 Seasons
Indigo and shibori dyeing have been perfect partners since ancient times, each bringing out the best in the other. They are a wonderful resource for contemporary quilts, especially whole cloth designs. Inspired by the Japanese characters for the four seasons, these quilts are predominantly created by shibori stitch resistthe design is stitched, gathered tightly, & dyed. The stitches are removed to reveal the design and then more stitches are added as the panels are quilted. The fifth season is New Years.
