I started quilting 25-30 years ago to share the experience and to travel to quilt shows and retreats with my mother. Traditional quilts were my starting place, and I eventually moved into art quilts. ...I love taking classes to learn new things and to see what others are doing. I love handwork. I like to play with things more than I like to finish something, so I have to keep myself somewhat disciplined to complete anything. ...I'm retired, and I spent my work life in the insurance business, mainly as a frontline supervisor or manager. That was such an organized, follow-the-numbers, stay-in-the-box life that it's been difficult and wonderfully amazing to break out of the box to create something beautiful.
