SAQA Seminar 2021 - Unit 7

Wrapping up

Over the last six weeks, we have presented you with a great deal of information about color, its science, its impact, its use, and its context. This is an opportunity to integrate what you have learned and share it with other participants.

For the final week, our gallery represents the full rainbow of color we have studied. Enjoy and become inspired!

Join us on Tuesday and Thursday this week for a live video conversation (scroll down for connection details) about all you have learned over the last seven weeks.  In each, participants will be talking about their experiences in the seminar and their take-aways. Please choose the best time for you. Missed a unit? Scroll down to view links to all the previous units of SAQA Seminar.

SAQA Seminar (Video Conversation)

Resources

SAQA Critique session with Jane Dunnewold. Jane critiques three artists' work and talks about color, value, and intensity.

CINIFIX List of the 10 Best Uses of Color [in film] of All Time. Fascinating video on how movie makers/cinematographers use color in films, either through technology or through meticulous planning for effect.

Futur Academy: Greg Gunn presents a couple of videos that show how to create a palette in Photoshop using one starting color (video 1) and then how to use those palettes in web design (video 2). Granted, these are aimed at graphic artists, but with so many of us using Photoshop and other computer based programs, what fun to learn new ways to play!
