The NEQM is proud to feature the major works of internationally renowned fiber artist and innovator Dominique Ehrmann of Quebec, Canada. Her extraordinary three-dimensional quilts and large-scale textile sculptures incorporate kinetic elements, light and transparency, and novel hanging methods to delightful effect. A self-taught fiber artist, Ehrmann draws inspiration from children’s pop-up books and her personal experiences with nature. She employs traditional quiltmaking techniques used for centuries, while pushing boundaries and refusing to be categorized. Tradition to Innovation is the culmination of a decade of research and experimentation in fiber arts.
