Join us in celebrating SDA's Journal, Textiles for the End of the World with guest-editor Elena Wise and artists Kosisochukwu Nnebe and Maggie Thompson on Wednesday, September 30 at 2PM EDT on Zoom. Elena writes in this journal: “In very practical ways, the knowledge passed down through generations of textile-making has enabled communities to survive and thrive through periods of uncertainty. The thread is not lost; it’s waiting to be found by those willing to do the work. Fiber practices bring together disparate forms of making, knowing and imagining, assembling a shared toolkit for navigating uncertainty.” Join us online as we imagine and reimagine how we rebuild our world, together.
Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
