Textile Art Gallery NYC is a new artist-run gallery dedicated to exhibiting contemporary textile and fiber art. With 2,600 square feet in Manhattan's Chelsea arts district, New York art fans and visitors will have a consistent place to visit to see innovative art leveraging quilting, weaving, mark making, printing, stitching and other textile and fiber art techniques.
Surface Tension is the inaugural exhibit, featuring works by the founding artist members, and exploring the concepts of tension, pressure and release.
SAQA members of Textile Art Gallery NYC include Juried Artists Ellen Piccolo, Maria Shell, Barbara Danzi, Peggy Black, Leslie Tucker Jenison, Kit Vincent, Diane Nunez, and Jean Howard, and members Karen Stone, Shari Werner, Chriss Johns, Julie Sevilla Drake and Kerri Green and Tanya Priyadarshini.
