Going to Quilt Festival Houston? So is SAQA!
We are thrilled that SAQA global exhibitions Microscape and Connections will premiere at International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas held October 28 to 31, 2021. We continue to face challenges related to COVID and acknowledge some members’ concerns related to Texas politics. With this in mind, we believe Quilt Festival is an important venue for sharing the art quilt with broad audiences, reaching potential new members, and providing an opportunity for SAQA members to meet and connect with each other.
In order to comply with safety precautions recommended by the CDC, all volunteers at the SAQA booth will be required to wear face masks. We have also canceled the SAQA reception since eating and drinking inside in close proximity with others is not advised. Instead, we’ll have a casual meet-and-greet in the SAQA booth on Friday, October 29 at 6 pm before Festival closes at 7 pm.
For SAQA members who are still planning to attend Festival, SAQA President Deborah Boschert, Board member Shannon Conley, and Assistant Executive Director Jennifer Solon are looking forward to seeing you. If you’d like to volunteer at the SAQA booth, please sign up below.
Mark your calendar for these opportunities to connect with SAQA members. If you are an artist in Connections or Microscape, please email us at email@example.com if you are planning on attending the gallery walks.
