This is a showcase for our Montana/Idaho SAQA Regional Members and members who have selected the MT/ID region as their second region. The purpose of this show is to present the diversity of our member artist’s talent and support SAQA’s mission to “promote the art quilt.” The trunk allows audiences to engage with the quilts in an up-close and personal way.
Each quilt will be mounted on a black backing board and sealed inside a clear envelope. The artist's location, artwork title, artist statement, and information about techniques and materials are featured on the back.
“Our Stitches Tell the Tale”
This is your story. It can be from your memory, a dream, a personal inspiration, a special person, a funny story or any other “story” that choose to share through your art. We welcome all entries whether you’re an award-winning, longtime artist or a new member just beginning to explore art quilts. Have fun trying a new subject, developing a technique, or working with an idea or concept with which you are already familiar. Make artwork that represents your creative style and ideas. Whatever you decide, enjoy yourself!
All work will travel indefinitely with the SAQA MT/ID Regional Trunk Showcase.
Venues: The Regional Trunk Show will be available to travel to regional libraries, quilt shows, small galleries, exhibit rooms, and similar venues. It also appears on the SAQA MT/ID Regional Portfolio website. https://www.saqamtid.com We will premiere the Trunk Show at our online Regional Conference in late October.
Eligibility: The trunk show is a non-juried showcase. All submitted works will be accepted. The artist must be a SAQA member of the MT/ID Region to enter. If MT/ID is your second region, you are also eligible to enter.
Fee: $10.00 per entry (pay fee). Members may submit up to three entries. Complete a separate entry form for each piece. These funds will be used in our region for Trunk Show display materials and exhibit preparation needs.
