A 20-year Retrospective of work inspired by the events that change our lives, to the peaceful moments that we rest in.

Brenda Bunten-Schloesser is an Indiana native, who has practiced art for over 35 years throughout the United States. She is a graduate from the Kansas City Art Institute and now lives in Bay Area of TX.

Brenda’s work represents the influence of life’s events and how even the smallest elements of the world around us are interwoven into our story, impacting and changing our dance through life. Incorporates traditional quilting techniques into larger wall sculptures with graphite drawings. Each fiber piece is created with painted cotton. Using MX Cold Water Dye and Discharge Techniques, on Cotton Broadcloth, which is then cut and pieced together in organic large shapes. Each piece has a large presence that speaks to you, telling a story or sharing a heartfelt event. Drawing you in to become a part of it and share in their moment in time. Her drawings represent time spent working through the details. Meditating on the path forward, preparing for the next step.

Reception: September 20 from 5 - 7pm
