SAQA is seeking nominations for the Board of Directors. As we focus on our mission to promote the art quilt and work toward our vision that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium, we are eager to add new members to our Board of Directors. We are looking for potential board members with:
- Business and financial acumen
- Broad art-world experience and connections
- Global representation
- Non-profit leadership expertise
- Reflect SAQA’s values of integrity, inclusion, excellence, and innovation.
SAQA’s Board is made of member-volunteers responsible for managing the affairs and business of the organization and truly is a “working” board. Board members serve as standing committee liaisons, project leaders, SAQA ambassadors, donor liaisons, and they work with SAQA staff and volunteers to plan strategy and events.
The board meets monthly and other times as needed. They also attend the annual conference and a board retreat to plan for the future. Any non-SAQA members nominated would need to join SAQA if selected.
Anyone can apply to for consideration or nominate another person. The deadline is September 1, 2023.
