This is an annual event featuring 100 judged quilts plus a challenge interpretation of the "Alamance Rose", a vintage traditional quilt. The Elon Committee Church is the host site and is located at 271 North Williamson Avenue in Elon. North Carolina. Parking is free and admission is a non-perishable food item, all of which is donated to a local food bank. The quilts are being judged by Scott Murkin, a well-known quilter from Ashboro, North Carolina. Quilts are presented by the Alamance Piecemakers and the Burlington Carousel quilt guilds, sponsors of the Show. Tickets for the raffle quilt made by the Burlington Carousel Quilt Guild as well as unique raffle baskets are available. There is also a silent quilt auction and vendors for your shopping pleasure. A special treat is a lecture by an internationally known fiber artist and teacher, Hollis Chatelain, on Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Elon Community Church. Admission to the lecture is $10 at the door. We are presenting the first annual Lillian Ellison Award for the Preservation of the Art of Quilting to Ms. Ellison at 11 a.m. on Friday, with a reception to follow. Show hours are 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
