AIR - FROM DAWN TO DUSK

In the DAMSS pictorial series related to “ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS”, “AIR” is the second composition after “WATER” in 2023.
This wide tapestry depicts a vast natural scene, charged with pleasant, positive vibes, concealing many environmental themes that an attentive viewer will be able to capture. 

Quoting Thales of Miletus: “We do not live on top of Earth; on the contrary, we live at the bottom of an air ocean, created by the heating of water vapor.” Anaximenes of Miletus is known for his belief that air is the arche or the basic element of the universe from which all things are created. Air is all around us, but we cannot see it. We hear its movement around us, but we realize its existence only in its absence or when it is polluted.  Air is the vital life force of all living things and the planet.  Earth’s atmosphere protects the planet from heat and radiation emitted from the Sun and contains the air we breathe. Air allows flight to take place. Air movement forced by wind allows sail boats to travel, wind mills and wind turbines to capture energy. Air allows us to smell fragrancies: oxygen from trees in the mountains or pollutants in planes.  Air allows us to hear the voices of our friends.
