Call for Entry Deadline

Be part of SAQA’s most-anticipated fund-raising event! Donate a 12 x 12-inch art quilt to support our exhibition and outreach programs. This year's auction will take place online from September 13 through October 6, 2024.

  • Donations MUST be 12” x 12”. All embellishments and/or hanging methods must be within the 12” x 12” size. Only ONE work per artist will be accepted. 
  • All artwork donated must be ready to hang. This can include a sleeve, corner pockets, or attached loops/rings.
  • Artwork on stretcher bars will be accepted but may not be any larger than 12” x 12” after mounting and should be no deeper than 1 inch (2.5 cm) after mounting. Artwork on stretchers must have hooks and wire attached for hanging.
  • All donations must have a label on the back, with the title (or "untitled") and artist's name clearly written.

PLEASE NOTE:

Since the auction will take place online, the quality of your image is very important! We may not be able to re-photograph your piece. 

When you complete your submission form, you will need to upload a digital image (jpg format) of your quilt. This image should be good quality: evenly lit, in focus, no smaller than the preferred size of 1200 x 1200 pixels.

Please take the picture on a contrasting color to your edges (pure white works best but use black or dark grey for lighter pieces). A large piece of posterboard makes the perfect background (unlike wood floors, carpet and tables). This will ensure your image looks its best when displayed on the website.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Once you complete the online submission form, you will receive a confirmation email which will include the shipping details (check spam folders). Mail your artwork along with a copy of your email confirmation to the address below.

If you can't print it out the confirmation (or don't receive it), just be sure to include your name and contact information INSIDE the package and/or on the back of your artwork.

Please do NOT fold your piece to fit the package! Mail your donation with a tracking number whenever possible but do NOT select signature required. If needed, the SAQA phone number is 860-530-1551.

If you live outside of the US, send your piece early enough to arrive by the deadline, including time to clear Customs.
