Artist Statement
Inspirations for my quilts often come from archaeology, especially the controversial work of Marija Gimbutas. I use drawings, woodblock prints, paints, piecing, quilting, and hand embroidery to investigate motifs that interest me, such as this Bird Goddess. Sometimes the images require other low-tech forming methods, such as micaceous clay goddesses. I often frame the wood block or collagraph when I finish printing a series of images on fabric.

The button here takes you to my Etsy store, where I sell a variety of fiber arts tools that I have made in my home wood shop, along with other 'notions' that emerge in my work with quilts.
