Yukata Play

Using Japanese vintage hand-stencil-dyed Japanese cotton yukata kimono sample swatches from the dyers, the log cabin blocks were constructed “intuitively” (i.e. no pre-plan or measuring) but with the intention of playful chattering of cloth: delighting in watching the indigo color in one strip blend into its neighbor’s realm, causing the illusion of a new shape.
