This piece has a dimensional effect to the raven and the rocks. It was adapted from a picture I had taken of a raven on a rocky beach in Tofino, BC. It was the iridescence of the raven's black oily feathers that caught my attention and what I have tried to capture in this piece.
Materials
Commercial fabrics, threads and batting; double sided fused webbing.
Techniques
I use a home computer to design and print patterns taken from my digital photos or drawings; raw edge applique; piecing; thread sketching and/or painting; free motion quilting
