Having once viewed a Mayan pyramid, it is not soon forgotten. The imagination is forever engaged. The ruined city at its feet seems haunted and one can almost hear strange music and voices of long departed peoples, expecting to catch a glimpse of them if only we could turn our heads quickly enough.
