The Space Between Heartbeats

When I’m designing a new quilt, my studio is silent. No music, no noise except the NYC streets, and I just cut add fabric to the design wall, step back and look, play some more and sometimes… when I’m completely lost in the process, I can hear my heart beat…. The quilt and the silence are the spaces in between each beat. I love what I do. I've been trying to keep that calm in my work during these days of covid.
