Somebody's Child 2

After the recorded murder of George Floyd calling out for his Mama, I researched black lives taken at the hands of police. I came across an open source spreadsheet, compiled by D. Brian Burghart, former newspaper editor, listing the names and circumstances of over 28,000 people who had fatal encounters with police in this century. I culled the name and cause of death of over 4700 African Americans who died of gunshots or asphyxiation in police encounters in the past 20 years. Each one was somebody’s child. All of these folks had Mamas. Many mamas are mourning.
