Save the Pollinators

Bees, beetles, butterflies, and bats—oh, and don't forget the moths. These are some of the main pollinators. Bees pollinate one-third of what we eat. Honey bees, which are not native to the United States, pollinate a large number of crops. Honey bees are not endangered, but many of the thousands of native bees are. The number of butterflies and moths is decreasing, and many of them are also endangered. We fail to always recognize the job of the many colorful small beetles. Movies and books have given bats a bad name. Bats pollinate tropical fruits. Pollinators are an important part of the food chain. Our lives and the planet depend on them.
