My quilt features a map of a wetland conservation area that borders our home. It provides habitat, even within suburbia, attracting sandhill cranes, waterfowl, deer, bears, foxes, and many more. Their pathways confirm their residency and highlight their need for space and solitude. This refuge is extremely important as urban development consumes more habitat. The quilt also covers a rustic redwood table, which has a hole courtesy of nature.
