Rust_rose may not be what most people think of when they visualise an "artquilt"; it's an odd shape and 3D. Fortunately though SAQA's definition of what constitutes an 'artquilt" "A creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure" opened up a whole new avenue of possibilities for me as an artist, allowing me to cross between the Fiber art arena and into the quilt world and I feel the cross over between the two can only help to strengthen both.
