For me, the most profound pathways are those born from intense disruption-the moments in life where the ground beneath us breaks, forcing a new route to form. The textured black and gray of the charred land symbolizes past states that have burned away. I wish to avoid these paths of loss, grief, or sudden change. Yet the glowing, fluid river of lava represents pathways through the darkness. These fiery paths are not gentle, but the only way forward.
