Red is for Metaphor

A red roller coaster infers the instability of shifting life situations, emotions, and conditions. This raw-edge appliquéd, machine-quilted composition is comprised of the artist’s hand-dyed fabrics and imaginative illustration. The work relates the myriad of actualities that come to mind when seeing that particular hue—passion, anxiety, danger, anger, temperature, chaos, and excitement … all of which tie their own experiences to the ups, downs, flips, and twists on the ride through time.
