Puzzling is about complex interconnections, boundaries, blurry and frayed edges of realities, and the stitches of life and experiences that hold everything together into one pattern of existence. The changing colors reflect the entire spectrum of color wheel and their deliberate placement is designed to moves the eye around the piece. My goal in all my work is to intrigue the mind by creating art that pulls people toward it from afar and pulls them farther in as the details emerge.
Puzzling is a quilt that came from an understanding that everything in life connects to something else, creating complex effects and a global designs. The individual puzzles are organic shapes that fit together. Placing these puzzles next to each other creates an increasing complexity of color and movement that would not be possible if these puzzle pieces stood alone.
We live everyday trying to put all the pieces of life's puzzles together in a harmonious arrangement. It is this creative process that that inspired me to make this quilt.
