From a series of work created by making random shapes and marks onto an old bed quilt panel, then searching for figures. The final image reminded me of people who squish into a photobooth and make funny faces. It contains at least eight characters, some in profile. The process always produces surprises (like a duck) hiding within the marks. The detail image shows the original painted panel.
Materials
gessoed quilt panel, acrylic paint, posca markers, fabrics, matte medium, thread
Techniques
Scribbles and paint slapped on the panel. Results studied in all directions, then painted and collaged details are added. Edges trimmed and stitched.
