The Pause That Refreshes was made in acknowledgment (healing?) of my starting menopause at age 50, life changes, aging and sexuality issues, and to express some of my feelings regarding it all. Personal, goddess, and feminist themes can be found throughout.
Materials
Mostly cottons, including batiks, hand dyes and commercial fabrics, cotton batting, beads, found items, rayon and metallic threads.
Techniques
Appliqu� and reverse appliqu�, pieced borders, overlays, heat transfer, edges left unbound. Embroidery style and free style quilting.
