Out of the Blue refers to the process used here—Prussian blue cyanotype, with serendipitous patterns resulting from the cotton blends resisting the photographic chemicals. With the rope, I drew my interpretation of the swooping, expansive music in Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”

My Past Present series incorporates traditional vintage quilt blocks and tops assembled by anonymous makers, creating contemporary statements.
