My father was an artist who enjoyed painting steamboats, including the Natchez of New Orleans, which he painted several times. When I had the opportunity to visit New Orleans in 2018, taking a ride on one of his favorite boats was a ‘must-do’. What a memorable ride it was to step inside one of his paintings and experience the sights of that great city along the Mississippi River. It was a touching experience for me to take a ride on a boat that gave him so much joy in painting.
