NEW DAWN BREAKING

This piece was inspired by the magnificent, gradient light in the sky just before dawn. As each new day begins, new hope is born. In this present period of overwhelming global anxiety - emotional, political, environmental- I focus my attention on hope. The early morning sky has always been fascinating to me. I have long been captivated by the way light slowly transforms the pitch dark sky, how colors shift from deep indigo to lavender, then pinks and soft corals just before the sun emerges. The symbolism embedded in this work goes beyond mere representation of a sunrise. It is a reminder that change is constant and that even in times of darkness, there is always the promise of light ahead.
