This piece depicts the global history of migration. The knots represent the movements of people from every land, showing that all peoples originally came from somewhere else, that migration was the way of life for so many millennia. The shape is based on Buckminster Fuller's cuboctohedron map projection because I wanted to show a world without a "global consciousness," where knowledge only extended as far as the neighboring geographic regions.
