March to Oblivion

Insects are crucial to the earth’s ecosystem. They perform many necessary tasks, including pollination. Yet, in the last few decades, scientists have noticed a drastic drop in the number of insects, caused by climate change, loss of habitat, and chemical saturation. This “insect apocalypse” will have devastating consequences for all forms of life on our planet. <P> My work highlights the beauty of beetles, one of the largest families of insects, elevating these crucial creatures into a monumental form. By gradually reducing their size, color, and texture, I compel viewers to confront the unraveling of nature, reminding them that our collective future is tied to the fate of these tiny forms.
