I made this quilt from my own drawing with inspiration from Carol Bryer Fallert. The piano keys are to represent my major in college which was music, and the jungle was my way of paying homage to the 3 1/2 years we spent in Puerto Rico. I added specialty yarn along the limb of the tree to signify moss growing on the tree. I had a larger bedroom to work in at this time, making it easier to work on larger projects.
Gradated hand dyed fabric, commercial fabric, crewel embroidery floss, specialty yarn, metallic thread, batting.
Raw-edge applique, machine piecing, strip piecing, hand embroidery.
Machine quilted by Irene Watson.
