Guardian of Self Worth

To work as an artist is always a challenge to one’s self-worth -- the world we live in is not always kind and sometimes the Victim emerges. Here the positive aspect of that archetype shows how her many arms and open hands protect my heart from ambushes and
remind me to always love my work. This portrait breaks the conventions of quilting by using unusual materials, vintage table cloths, a Guatemalan skirt, Mexican and Indian textiles and embroidery, as well as digitally designed textiles.
