Geometry of Chance 1

Sometimes, beginning a new piece evolves from musing over the stash of good stuff in my closets and shelves. Pieces of mica rock, sliver thin, are stitched onto rugged square patches of denim, a miner's cloth. The reflective layers are entwined with golden threads, couched through the rough fabrics. Each square a moment of meditation, concentration and persistence. Patched in applique onto hand dyed indigo silk,quilted to a gold and navy fabric of disc design. This piece is a result of my yoga meditations.
