I live in an area of the country that is prone to forest fires, most caused by lightning strikes. At the beginning of every summer, I wonder how severe the upcoming fire season is going to be. Some years are worse than others. In my Firestorm series, I explore the wild beauty and devastation of forest fires, contrasting the heat and destruction with the coolness of the sky, lakes, rivers, and streams within the forests.
