Again and again, I have found that adding new skills always leads to creating new kinds of work. The result of learning to paint, layer, and stitch silk organza is the joyful play of light and shadow in a way that I didn't achieve with only cottons and other fabrics. With no bulk to impede mounting, I'm now able to place a lightweight layered piece between sheets of glass or acrylic so that light can pass through and reveal even more nuances. I experience so much delight in constantly finding new forms to express and display my creativity with textiles.
Painted silk organzas, cotton
