Part of the beauty and drama of working with abstract forms is that the only limits are self-imposed. Whether in quilt making or in life, a sewn seam or a road, I believe there is no absolutely wrong choice. I was thinking about Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken," while I was creating this quilt. However, Frost's poem, though beautiful and lyrical, suggests regret, while the roads we actually do choose are anchored by an optimistic outlook.
