Dandelion Season

Dandelions are able to produce genetically identical clone seeds by a process known as apomixis. This allows them to spread rapidly and prolifically into new habitats. Insect pollination also occurs since the pollen and nectar are primary food sources for bees and other pollinators in the early spring. It only took a few years of no chemical control for dandelions to carpet our rural property; it is an amazing sight every spring.
