Even as a student on a tight budget, I have always tried to treat myself to flowers now and again: to arrange creatively, to admire, to observe, to just enjoy. Here, using only a limited palette and a single shape, I had fun trying to find what kinds of flowers could emerge from this field of circles. This radiant blooming bouquet fills me with childish joy, just like real flowers, especially when the sun hits it just right and all these textures come to life.
Materials
Hand dyed cotton satin whole cloth, silk and cotton quilting threads, thermolan batting.
Techniques
Painted with thickened Procion dyes, free motion machine quilting on a domestic machine.
