Black holes attract everything. This piece depicts several pairs of opposites being drawn into the deep unknown: a smooth curve and pointed angles; dense piecing and uninterrupted space; light and dark; colors and neutrals. The fabric in the points was hand-dyed and strip pieced by artist Anne Parker. The "scraps" that were left over from several of her large quilts were used by artist Niraja Lorenz to create this dynamic depiction of opposites.
Hand-dyed and commercial solid-colored cotton fabric.
Machine pieced, machine quilted, hand dyed
