My first trip to Beijing was to attend the First International Fiber Art Biennale. Our time was filled with events that did not include the Summer Palace. It is the one place I had my heart set on visiting. Only having a morning free, with the exhibition opening at 2pm, a friend and I took a chance and took the bus. Time ran out and we only had one hour to visit. We ran to the picture gallery and darted here and there trying to see something!

The first quilt I did when I returned home was to interpret the picture gallery before my impressions disappeared.
