From the Ashes

Our forests provide a retreat from city streets and buildings. They bring us a feeling of renewal and of being one with nature. Fire seems to destroy this retreat. But there are certain pinecones that will not open unless they have been through a fire. Sometimes devastation can also bring new beginnings—a new hope. This quilt is made to represent the three stages of a forest fire: the fire, the new beginnings, and the restoration.
