The design for this piece comes from two photographs of agave, a long-time favorite plant. The technique is based on Katie Pasquinli Masopust's Fractured Landscapes technique. Katie is one of the true masters to whom I owe a debt of gratitude, along with Nancy Crow, Ann Johnston, Patty Hawkins, Judith Trager, and so many others who have given so generously of their time and knowledge. At a time when I was just starting out in this medium, they opened my eyes not only to what is possible with this medium, but also to what it means to be an artist.
