Thread and Canvas

Non-SAQA
Exhibition

Silo Gallery is proud to announce its fifth showcase, Thread and Canvas, an exhibition curated in collaboration with artist Clare Watt. Inspired by the 1983 travelling exhibition The Artist and the Quilt, this show draws on the rich history of textile art and quilting, featuring the works of three female artists: Lydia Donohue, Liv Ryan, and Clare Watt.

The exhibition will be held at the historic Silo Gallery, a 19th-century barn nestled in Upstate New York, a region where quilting has been a long-standing tradition and cultural staple. The Silo Gallery, housed in a 19th-century barn, has a rich history as a home for dairy cows and poultry. The owner also used the space as a studio, and some of his abstract creations can still be seen on the barn door. Today, the barn serves as both a gallery and a venue for entertaining.

The opening reception on November 16th (2-5pm) will include drinks from local vendors.
