“Practice makes perfect” as the saying goes. And the quilters whose works are represented in Texas Grand Masters: Timeless Quilts have certainly perfected their craft. To celebrate makers in their golden years, this competition—juried by former Bybee Scholar Marcia Kaylakie and Vicki Coody Mangum, co-curators—was open exclusively to artists age 75 and older.
Works in this exhibition display ingenuity and fine technique from across the state, with subjects ranging from butterflies to the Texas Capitol building. They showcase piecing, appliqué, and exquisite stitchery.
