This quilt was inspired by years of snorkeling and the thrill of seeing lots of tiny, live leafy sea dragons at the National Art Quilts Unfoldingarium in Baltimore. It is hard to believe we inhabit the same planet as the lovely little creatures. Their beauty and fragility brought me to tears.
Materials
Handpainted silk front, wool batting and handpainted silk back
Techniques
I handpainted the silk and it was machine pieced and hand quilted by Janet Hale.
