Kerby C. Smith
This piece is based on a very vivid dream that still delights me to recall. It is a bit larger than I'd worked on previously, and used the lightly stuffed bas relief work with rich textiles I was doing at the time. This was the second piece of mine purchased by Kenny Loggins from the Elizabeth Fortner Gallery in Santa Barbara.
Cotton, silk chiffon, organza, velvet, satin, suede cloth and raw silk fabrics, opArt Quilts Unfoldinge panty hose, polyester stuffing.
Bas relief hand appliqud, hand quilted in the ditch with buttonhole twist threads.
