Artist Statement
I am an artist living in Taos, New Mexico. I graduated with honors in Art from the University of Kentucky where I majored in Printmaking and Ceramics. I learned to sew when I was 12 years at Singer Sewing school. After I received my BA in Art I taught Art to grades 1 through 9 for 3 years, and I also made pottery. I started making quilts then as well.

One of my first commissioned quilts was for the Alfred P Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City. I continued to make quilts from 1970 to the present day, placing them in many public buildings, museum collections, and private collections.

I have taught at Penland School, arrowmont, Art Quilt Tahoe, and many guild venues around the country. I have not been teaching much now, but I have a daily studio attendance, and I continue to make commissions and exhibit in museums.
