Once someone's haven, once someone's home—I am always intrigued by the memories and stories that abandoned farmhouses tell. I wonder who lived there, what life was like, when they left, and why? I appreciate the character that remains, often entering to find remnants of a past life: children’s wallpaper, an old oven, or a broken-down cradle…things that reflect a home, a refuge, and a place that was once loved.
